SPOKANE RESIDENT SPREADS GOOD FORTUNE
July 16, 2009
SPOKANE - June Kramer of Spokane walked into her local Safeway store to purchase a few gift cards for her family. Little did she know that she would end up buying herself the best gift of all, a winning Lottery Scratch ticket worth $250,000.
"I kicked myself for buying it because it was a lot of money," said June, after purchasing the $10 ticket. She decided to sit down with a cold Pepsi and see if her purchase was worth it and nonetheless it was! At first she only thought she'd won $250 but soon realized she had more of the ticket to scratch off ... and more zeros.
"Everyone [at the store] was grinning. They were really excited!" exclaimed June. She said she went straight home to sit in her recliner and just hold her winning ticket. After telling her family the great news her son told her, "you deserve it mom!"
"My knees are shaking!" said June, speaking at the Lottery office in Spokane. She plans on helping her family with the winnings. "Everyone [in her family] is a little financially pinched so I'll be spreading it around." She went on to say that it's a good feeling for her if she could make her family's lives easier.
June Kramer won $250,000 playing the "Big Payout". She bought her winning ticket at Safeway located on 2509 E 29th Avenue in Spokane.
