MIDDLETOWN – A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 from the Aug. 2, 2008, drawing has yet to be presented to the Pennsylvania Lottery for payment. The ticket and prize will expire on Aug. 2 – one year from the date of the drawing.
The soon-to-expire Powerball ticket correctly matched four of the five white balls, 02, 05, 28, 33, 54, the red Powerball, 30, the ticket was purchased with PowerPlay, which multiplied the prize to $50,000, less 25 percent federal withholding.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Hess gas station at 905 East Main St., Mount Joy, Lancaster County.
Unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians.
