IOWA MAN WINS $20,000

Lee Hays of Shenandoah, Iowa has claimed the $20,000 Montana Cash jackpot from a ticket that he bought for the July 11 drawing. He bought his ticket from Noon’s, located at 540 E. Broadway in Missoula.
Hays is spending the summer in Montana while attending the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula. He plans to use his winnings to buy photography equipment, and possibly extend his stay in Montana and enroll in more classes at Rocky Mountain. He says that he is thrilled because his winnings will cover the cost of his summer tuition as well as allow him to buy some more advanced equipment. “Most, if not all, of the money will be spent in Montana,” Hays says with a smile. “I love Montana, and have been visiting since I was young.”
Hays is a regular Lottery player, and his Montana Cash prize is his biggest win yet. He won the jackpot by matching all five numbers, which were chosen by Quick Pick. Hays discovered that he had won on Sunday morning via the Montana Lottery website. He plans to continue playing.
The Montana Lottery was created by referendum in 1986. In the past 22 years it has paid out over $332 million to players in prizes and returned more than $152 million to the State of Montana.
