QUEEN CITY WOMAN WINS LOTTERY FOR EIGHTH TIME IN ONE YEAR

It’s a lucky year for one Queen City woman. Vickie Pruett won the Missouri Lottery not once, not twice, but a total of eight times over a 12-month period of time.
Pruett, a 53-year-old registered nurse, kicked off her lucky streak with a $10,000 win on a "$250,000 Mega Cash" Scratchers ticket on Sept. 19, 2008. Over the next several months she managed to win $500 on six more Scratchers tickets. Pruett’s most recent prize added $20,000 to her total windfall. Pruett purchased the winning "100 Million Dollar Blockbuster" Scratchers ticket at Ice House, 2700 N. Baltimore in Kirksville on July 13.
Pruett, a mother of two and grandmother of four, said she feels "very blessed and thankful."
According to Pruett, her "hands were itching," so she made a stop on her way home from visiting her mother at the hospital. Pruett discovered she had won this time after scratching the ticket while sitting in her vehicle.
"I took it (ticket) inside and showed my favorite clerk," she added.
After sharing the news, Pruett dropped by her workplace to "show them why I wasn’t coming in the next day."
According to the lucky Lottery winner, the prize money "couldn’t have come at a better time." She plans to put the winnings towards paying bills.
When asked about advice for fellow Lottery players, she says to "put your faith in God." She also added that "you never know when it’s going to be a winning ticket."
