ILLINOIS RESIDENTS VISIT KANSAS – TAKE HOME $5,000 CASH PRIZE

TOPEKA, KAN. – Patricia and Jerry Richardson of Aurora, Illinois recently made a trip to Kansas to visit Jerry’s brother and sister-in-law. Last Wednesday, Patricia decided to try her luck playing Kansas Lottery games. When she made her purchase, she never thought she’d be bringing home an extra $5,000. Patricia purchased four $5 Super Red Hot Crossword instant scratch tickets, winning a $5,000 cash prize on the second ticket she played.
“I was shocked when I revealed a $5,000 prize,” said Richardson. “I was so surprised, I wasn’t sure at first that I’d won. I had my brother-in-law and sister-in-law look over my ticket. After they confirmed that they thought it was a $5,000 winner, I still kept checking the ticket. We finally took it back to the store and had it checked.”
Richardson’s sister-in-law accompanied her back to the store where she purchased her ticket.
“After the ticket was confirmed a winner, we went home to share the news,” said Richardson. “My sister-in-law honked the horn all the way up the driveway.”
Besides winning a $5,000 cash prize, Patricia and Jerry had another reason to celebrate. Last Friday, they celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. The Richardsons, who have three grown children and five grandchildren, plan to save their prize for a vacation in the fall.
