“ALL RIGHT, I’M BUYING A NEW CAR,” SAYS WIN FOR LIFE WINNER

Since he retired, Charles Robens of Yorktown has enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing the Virginia Lottery’s Win For Life game – not necessarily in that order. The former power company lineman was watching the Win For Life drawing on WAVY-TV10 on the night he won $52,000.
“I knew immediately,” he later told Lottery officials. “I thought, ‘All right, I’m buying a new car.’”
His ticket matched five of the first six numbers plus the Free Ball number to win the game’s second prize of $52,000 in the June 10 drawing. He bought the ticket at Zota, located at 8102 George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown. He selected the numbers on his ticket at random.
The winning numbers for that drawing were 3-6-7-10-19-42 and the Free Ball was 26.
“It feels good,” he said as he claimed his prize. “I can do good and get my car too!”
Win For Life offers a top prize of $1,000 per week for the life of the winner. Drawings are held Wednesday and Saturday nights at 11:00.
