Mary Trent of Rochester won $200,000 on a Powerball ticket she purchased for the drawing on June 3, 2009. The first five numbers on Trent’s quick-pick ticket matched the numbers 16-20-22-32-37 (the Powerball was 9) drawn on June 3.
Trent said she had some “heavenly help” from her dad and others who always enjoyed playing the Lottery. “He’s smiling down at me,” she said as she received her prize check at Lottery headquarters in Roseville on June 5. “It’s very hard to believe.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Kwik Trip, 3531 – 9th St. N.W. in Rochester.
A Powerball prize worth $200,000 from the drawing on April 29, 2009 (sold in Stearns County) has not yet been claimed. Players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim all prizes.
Powerball is the multi-state lotto game that offers players nine ways to win. Players select five numbers from 1 to 59 and a Powerball, from 1 to 39. The jackpot is won by matching all five numbers plus the Powerball. Approximate odds of winning a cash prize are 1 in 35.1 and approximately 1 in 195.2 million to win the jackpot.
For an extra $1 per Powerball play, players can purchase the Power Play® option to multiply their prizes (except the jackpot) by two, three, four or five times. A Power Play wheel randomly draws the Power Play number before the winning Powerball numbers are drawn. Players can win up to $1 million with Power Play.
