LOTTO 6/49 JACKPOT CONTINUES TO BREAK RECORDS WITH WEDNESDAY’S $49 MILLION JACKPOT

Moncton, (NB) – For the fourth time in the past 12 months (yes, you read right, the fourth time) the Lotto 6/49 jackpot has set a new record high. Wednesday’s jackpot is an estimated $49 million – making it the largest advertised jackpot in the game’s 26-year history.
It’s not just the weather that’s breaking records this year – the ever-increasing Lotto 6/49 jackpot has Atlantic Canadians crossing fingers and toes! Back in August we were excited for a then-record $43 million jackpot, a jackpot so nice we offered it twice – when the $43 million jackpot re-surfaced for a January draw. Then February brought us another record-breaker with a $48 million jackpot. Little did we know that three months later we’d see another record smashed with this Wednesday’s jackpot revealing an estimated $49 million up for grabs.
It’s no surprise that Atlantic Canada has been on a roll during the past few months; since March we’ve presented over $13 million in top prize wins to lucky Atlantic Canadians. We’re hoping that this lucky streak’s just starting though and that there’s at least one East Coaster who will take a piece of the $49 million pie.
Although many of us would have no problem figuring out how best to spend a $49 million windfall, there’s a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ about playing as a group. After all, when the jackpot’s this big – even a group of 50 would be on the road to riches.
