Raymond Davis of Stillwater won $43,711 by playing the Lottery’s Northstar Cash game. Davis’s ticket was one of two tickets sold for the May 10, 2009 drawing that matched all five numbers (5-12-17-21-26) to split the $87,422 jackpot.
When he compared the numbers on his ticket to the winning numbers printed in the newspaper, he saw immediately that all five numbers on the first line of his five-line quick-pick ticket matched the winning numbers. “It was fun,” to see all five winning numbers lined up on his ticket, he said.
Davis claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on May 13.
Neighbor Stop, located at 1101 Owen St. in Stillwater, sold the winning ticket.
The other $43,711 prize from the May 10, 2009 drawing has not been claimed. The following Northstar Cash jackpot prizes are also unclaimed: $28,000 from the drawing on July 16, 2008 (sold in Stearns County) and $44,401 from the drawing on March 15, 2009 (sold in Stearns County). Northstar Cash players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn.
