FOUND TICKET YIELDS CROFTON WOMAN $250,000 MEGA MILLIONS WIN
May 4, 2009

(Baltimore) – An Anne Arundel County woman and her husband found a new source of income at a time when that is a real plus. The 42-year-old won $250,000 on her Mega Millions ticket. Her husband was on his way to make a purchase at the 7-11 when he came across a few old tickets still in his truck. When he scanned the ticket from April 7th, he got a bit of a surprise when the ticket quick check revealed, “Cash at Lottery”. “I went to the truck, then decided to go back inside to find out what that meant. I scanned the ticket three times because I thought I was doing something wrong,” the 41-year-old said.

The cashier confirmed it was a winner and gave him a 1-800 number to call. He hurried out of the store and confirmed the $250,000 win by calling the Maryland Lottery claims office. “I immediately called my wife to tell her the good news,” he said.

They are keeping news of the win quiet. “No one knows. We will help where we can, but we’re not telling anyone why we are helping,” she said.

The lucky winners, who will celebrate eight years of marriage on May 30th, plan to use the winnings to pay off bills, put some toward the house and some toward college for their five children. “We’ll put some away. Then, if something happens we’ll have something to fall back on,” she said. “Honey, you may have a good steak tonight,” she added with a smile. “That - I’m not holding back on,” he exclaimed. The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-11 #21148 Hundal, located at 2046 Davidsonville Road in Crofton.
