HOBART MAN CELEBRATES $100,000 WIN

INDIANAPOLIS– When he woke up a little under the weather this morning, Steve Ellis of Hobart had no idea the amazing turn his day would take. Little did he know that by the afternoon he would be in Indianapolis holding a Hoosier Lottery check for $100,000.
But that is exactly what Ellis did. The 22 year-old now has the hat, the t-shirt and the check to prove it. Ellis won on the Cash Extravaganza Scratch-off ticket. He purchased his ticket this morning at Luke's #224 at 3 E. U.S. Hwy 6 in Valparaiso on his way to work at Duke Oil where he is a manager.
"I picked that ticket because it was ticket number seven and that's my lucky number," said Ellis.
It was a party at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters as Ellis claimed his winnings accompanied by sister Billie Ellis, his roomate Amber McGee, and his friend Brian Rose.
The group planned to pick up six more friends back in Lake County and head to Chicago for the night in a limo.
"We're taking a limo cruise all around Chicago and going out to eat," said Ellis.
"Let's go! I'm ready to party now!" said McGee with a laugh.
As for his long term plans, Ellis hopes to put some money down on a house and buy a new car.
