SANTA ANA MEGA MILLIONS® WINNER TAKES HOME $167,421

SACRAMENTO – On Friday night his numbers came up, and on Monday afternoon, a lucky California Lottery player from Santa Ana has stepped forward to claim his prize. Timothy Yi, a 26 year-old artist, matched five of six numbers in Friday night’s MEGA Millions® draw, winning $167,421.
Yi, who is not a regular Lottery player but felt the allure of the large MEGA Millions jackpot was too great to pass up, said that he’s “pretty speechless” and ended up having to “double-check the ticket many times.” And while he said he was planning to use his winnings to pay some bills and would probably end up saving most of it, he did plan to “splurge on a couple things.”
Yi purchased his winning ticket at Mac Arthur Mobil, located at 100 W Mac Arthur Blvd. The winning numbers were 9, 20, 21, 48, 49, and the Mega number – the only number the ticket did not match – was 7. A second ticket, purchased at Donuts Express in Whittier, located at 14748 Whittier Blvd. #E, also matched 5 of 6 in Friday’s draw and has not yet been claimed. No one matched all six numbers, and tomorrow night’s jackpot is $181 million.
