NEW WHEELS FOR SAN JOSE MEGA MILLIONS® WINNER
April 29, 2009
SACRAMENTO – The winner of a MEGA Millions ticket purchased a little more than a week ago in San Jose stepped forward today to claim his $275,671 prize.
The man, who asked to remain anonymous, said that he was “very happy” to have won, and that he planned to use a portion of his winnings to buy a new car, as he currently does not have one.
He purchased his winning ticket at New Aborn Liquors in San Jose, which is located at 2960 Aborn Road. The winning numbers were 5, 24, 37, 47, 52, and the Mega number – the only number the ticket did not match – was 6.
No one matched all five numbers plus the Mega number in last night’s MEGA Millions draw, so as a result, Friday night’s jackpot has soared to a staggering $220 million.
