SPOKANE WOMAN WINS $200 A WEEK FOR LIFE

SPOKANE – Susan Gage of Spokane would probably have made the trip to see her favorite baseball player, Ken Griffey Jr. play at Safeco Field--even if she hadn't won $200 per week playing "Cash For Life." But she did win, and now she can take her kids and grandkids with her too. Griffey has been her favorite player since he played for Seattle under the lights of the Kingdome. "I never got to see him play, he's always been my favorite," she said.
Susan, who works at a Spokane photo lab, says she bought her ticket on her way out of Rosauers Food on East Sprague Ave. "I went into Rosauers, got two dollars in change and thought 'why not?'" She recalled. She waited until later that day when work had slowed down to check her ticket. She scratched it off and saw that she was a winner. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, Susan called her daughter and asked if she would go back to the store with her to confirm the winning ticket. She excitedly agreed and the two ladies were off. Back at the store, Susan's daughter took the ticket and went inside while Susan waited out the long seconds in the car. "When I saw her walking back out of the store to the car I knew it was real," Susan said.
Susan said the rest of her family was "ecstatic" to hear about her winning, and for good reason. It looks like they'll be treated to a day at the ball park to see their favorite player.
Susan Gage won $200 per week for life playing "Cash For Life," a Scratch game from Washington's Lottery. She bought her ticket at Rosauers Food in Spokane. Lottery tickets sales help pay down the debt on Safeco Field—the stadium where Gage will watch Griffey play.
