LEE COUNTY MAN WINS $100,000 IN “$100,000 BANKROLL”
April 22, 2009
Daniel Roberts of Dryden had just gotten off work when he stopped at his favorite convenience store and bought some $100,000 Bankroll tickets from the Virginia Lottery.
“I scratched that one ticket and I turned white as a sheet,” he later told Lottery officials.
The ticket was a $100,000 winner. He bought it at Black Diamond, located at 1531 Morgan Avenue in Pennington Gap.
Mr. Roberts, who is a truck driver, told Lottery officials he plans to save his winnings and pay bills.
$100,000 Bankroll is one of dozens of Scratcher games offered by the Virginia Lottery. This is the first ticket to win $100,000 in the game, which means there are two top-prize-winning tickets yet to be claimed.
