ROANOKE WOMAN WINS $100,000, THEN CELEBRATES WITH MILK AND COOKIES

If you won $100,000 in a Virginia Lottery game, how would you react? Diana Callahan of Roanoke may have just the answer.
“My husband and I celebrated with milk and cookies!” she told Lottery officials.
Ms. Callahan won the top prize in the Lottery’s Fabulous 5s Scratcher game. She bought the winning ticket at Apple Market, located at 3348 Orange Avenue in Roanoke.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she said when she claimed her prize. “I looked at the ticket and said, ‘This can’t be true.’”
Ms. Callahan, who works as a retail manager, said the winnings will help pay for an addition that is currently being built to her house.
Fabulous 5s is one of dozens of Scratcher games offered by the Virginia Lottery. It features prizes ranging from $5 to $100,000. This is the second ticket to win the $100,000 prize in this game, which means there is one top-prize-winning ticket yet to be claimed.
