(AUSTIN) – The DVT Family, L.P. by DVT Investments GP, L.L.C., General Partner, by Donnie Tran, Manager, of Houston has claimed the $28 million Lotto Texas® jackpot from the drawing on March 14.
The ticket was purchased with the Cash Value Option, which gives the winner a prize of $18,997,880.26 before taxes.
The winner bought the ticket at the Kroger #275, 13133 Veterans Memorial Drive. The retailer is eligible to receive a bonus of one percent of the advertised jackpot or the jackpot based on sales, whichever is higher, for selling the ticket. The bonus amount is $285,552.88.
“This was the highest Lotto Texas jackpot we’ve had since August of 2008 when we were at $30 million,” said Texas Lottery Commission Deputy Executive Director Gary Grief. “Also, up to now, we’ve had 519 Lotto Texas jackpot tickets sold since the game began in November of 1992.”
The winner requested minimal publicity.
Tonight’s Mega Millions® jackpot is worth an estimated $109 million. Saturday’s Lotto Texas jackpot is worth an estimated $6 million.
