$2.9 MILLION WINNERS "NEVER EXPECTED TO WIN”
April 22, 2009
NASHVILLE - Jo Ann Bullard and Joe Morin have played lottery games for years, but “never expected to win.” Once the Knoxville friends learned their Quick Pick LOTTO PLUS ticket correctly matched all six numbers in the drawing on Tuesday, April 21 to win $2.9 million, they became believers.
“Seeing is believing, and once I see this money it’s all going to sink in!” said Jo Ann, who has a consulting business with Joe that helps disabled individuals. “I checked the numbers five times…maybe more…and then I hugged my kitty and said, ‘Mama is going to get you a treat!’”
Joe and Jo Ann, who will split the prize, have no immediate plans for the money other than paying off their homes. The ticket was purchased at Fuel Plus, 1198 East Magnolia Ave. in Knoxville. The store will receive $5,000 for selling the winning ticket.
