TURNING 40 TURNED OUT TO BE LUCKY DAY FOR EASTON WOMAN
April 16, 2009
(Baltimore) – Judith Wilson wasn’t too thrilled about turning the big 4-0 on Tuesday, that’s until she scratched her way to a $9,000 win on the Year of the Ox instant ticket. Judith, and her eight-year-old daughter, stopped that morning on their way to school to get a hot chocolate. That’s when the birthday girl treated herself to a few scratch-offs. Judith purchased the tickets from the Lottery vending machine. “I picked one of the $2 Mystery Tickets and got the Year of the Ox,” said Judith. “I thought at first I didn’t like it. Of course, I feel differently now,” she added, laughing.

The second-grade teacher discovered that she was a big winner later in the afternoon when she scratched her tickets on her lunch break. “Lots of other teachers were there. My husband was too,” said Judith. “I had to sit down. I was very surprised. Everyone was so excited.”

Judith’s lucky birthday also included a $50 win on another scratch-off. “After today, I can handle 40,” she said. Judith intends to put the bulk of her winnings in the bank. She and her family may also take a trip.

The winning ticket was purchased at High’s #406, located at 8276 Elliott Rd. in Easton.
