LINWOOD RESIDENT PLAYS $10 GAME FOR FIRST TIME – WINS $10,000
April 9, 2009
TOPEKA, KAN. – Daniel Clayton of Linwood had never played a $10 instant scratch ticket before, so when he went into a local convenience store last night he noticed the store clerk had put a new $10 game into their lottery dispenser, and decided to give it a try. He purchased two $10 Cruisin’ & Cash instant scratch tickets, winning a $10,000 top prize on the first ticket he scratched!

“I buy scratch tickets a couple of times a week,” explained Clayton. “When the clerk put in the new game, I thought why not give it a try. I couldn’t believe I won $10,000 on the very first ticket.”

After having his winning ticket verified at the store, Clayton signed the back of his ticket and went home.

“I hid my ticket in a strong box I keep at home,” said Clayton. “I had a hard time sleeping. I couldn’t quit thinking of what I could do with the money. It hasn’t really sunk in that I’ve won.”

Clayton, who is a school bus driver, plans to pay bills with his prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at G & S Convenience Store 2, located at 115 E. 1st St. in Linwood.
