KANSAS LOTTERY GAME LUCKY FOR MISSOURI RESIDENT

TOPEKA, KAN. – Even though Bobby May didn’t know how to pronounce “Sudoku,” she thought it looked like an interesting game to play. On Monday, the Plattsburg, Missouri resident purchased two of the $2 Sudoku instant scratch tickets, winning a $10,000 top prize on one.
“About three to four times a week, I stop on my way to work and buy scratch tickets,” said May. “My husband Ronnie and I recently returned from an eight-day vacation to Cozumel, Mexico. I hadn’t bought any tickets in awhile, so I decided to stop and get a couple. I had never seen the Sudoku game and even though I didn’t know how to say it, I thought I’d give it a try.”
May, who works at Health Specialists in Lenexa, scratched her tickets at work.
“I sat at my desk in disbelief,” said May. “I couldn’t believe I’d won $10,000. I couldn’t sit there not knowing for sure, so I went back to the store and asked them to check it for me. I called my husband on his break to tell him I’d won, but he didn’t believe me. I still don’t think he believes me.”
May and her husband Ronnie, who have been married 27 years, are closing on a new house next week.
“I was starting to stress about money,” said May. “Now I can buy the wooden blinds I wanted for our new house.”
The winning ticket was purchased at CSC 65, 12419 W. 95th St. in Lenexa.
