PORTAGE MAN WINS $50,000
April 13, 2009
INDIANAPOLIS – Portage-resident Thomas Nawrocki kicked-off his work week with some extra change in his pocket after winning $50,000 from the Hoosier Lottery. Nawrocki claimed his prize this morning at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis.

"I was numb for the first 24 hours," said Nawrocki. "I never thought anything like this would happen to me."

"It's life changing," said Nawrocki who is a sales representative for Pen Products. "I'm getting ready to retire in a couple years and this will really help me out."

In the long-term, Nawrocki plans to use his winnings to pad his retirement. Right now, he plans to buy a new laptop computer.

Nawrocki purchased his $500,000 Jumbo Bucks Scratch-off ticket at Kwik Mart at 3283 Willowcreek Road in Portage.
