LAUNDROMAT OWNER CLEANS UP ON “MAKE ME A MILLIONAIRE”
April 11, 2009
SACRAMENTO - The California Lottery's TV game show, "Make Me a Millionaire," awarded more than $123,500 in cash and prizes to 12 contestants this week.
Contestant Rita Brown and her husband are Laundromat owners from Salinas. Less than a year ago her husband, won $50,000 spinning the wheel on California Lottery’s “Big Spin” show. But Rita outdid her husband bringing home $64,000 on Safe Cracker. Together they have won $114,000 on the California Lottery’s TV show in two years.
Felicia Villegas, from Grover Beach, told Lottery officials that the combination of the $30,000 she won on Safecracker and her devotion to Roman architecture will help her achieve a lifelong dream – to visit Italy.
