LYNNWOOD WOMAN DREAMS OF WINNING LOTTERY, WINS NEXT DAY

LYNNWOOD – Nhieu Thi Nguyen (pronounced Nu Ti Nh-wen), a seamstress from Lynnwood, said she dreamt of winning the Lottery Wednesday night. In her dream she scratched a ticket revealing the number eight and was a winner. The next day she won $100,000 playing "Fabulous Fortune," a Scratch game from Washington's Lottery.
Nhieu and her son Kevin were at Safeway in Lynnwood picking up groceries on Wednesday afternoon. On the way out she stopped to pick up some Scratch tickets hoping that her dream could become reality. She went home and used a penny to start scratching the tickets. Right away she saw that she'd matched the number 10 on her "Fabulous Fortune" ticket. She was a winner, but how much had she won? She thought, "Maybe two or three dollars." She scratched the "prize" section, and to her astonishment she had won $100,000. "Is this real?" she screamed.
Nhieu called her daughter in law, Sandy, and told her to rush home from work. Nhieu, Sandy, Sandy's husband Jorge and two-year-old Kevin drove together to the Lottery regional office in Everett. The family was all smiles as they collected the prize, and Kevin clutched the lucky penny his mom had used to scratch her winning ticket the whole time. Nhieu said Kevin being with her at Safeway was the reason she'd won. "He is the lucky one," she laughed.
While she isn't sure what she'll do with the money yet, Nhieu did joke that Kevin can have whatever he wants.
