DENVER – One lucky player purchased the same five numbers five times for Saturday’s Cash 5 drawing, and will win the $20,000 top prize five times for the foresight. That means the player will win $100,000. The ticket was purchased at the Phillips 66, 999 Wadsworth Parkway in Westminster.
“For this drawing, we actually paid out more in prizes than we sold in tickets,” said Colorado Lottery Director Jack Boehm. “Our players should be very happy about this drawing.”
The numbers for the drawing on March 7th were 3, 6, 11, 17 and 29.
The top prize for Cash 5 does not become pari-mutuel - that is divided equally among all winners - until it is hit 11 or more times in one drawing. So, if a player plays the same numbers for the same drawing and is lucky enough to win, he or she can increase their prizes up to ten-fold. In total, the Lottery paid out $135,200 in prizes for this drawing.
