GUELPH MAN WINS LOTTO 6/49 JACKPOT AS A SUBSCRIPTION NEWBIE!

Beginners luck? Perhaps. But don’t tell that to James Xuereb of Guelph, who captured the grand prize of $4,581,594, from the March 14, 2009 LOTTO 6/49 draw by playing LOTTO ADVANCE. Xuereb’s winning numbers came up on the very first draw his subscription started.
“Close to 30 years ago, I had a dream of someday winning the big one so I could buy a 1979 Trans Am, like the one used in the movie Smokey and the Bandit” an elated Xuereb told OLG staff in Toronto. “I guess that Trans Am will have been worth the wait!”
Xuereb discovered his winning numbers by entering them on the OLG website where they came up as the ultimate match. Xuereb, who is a driver for Rent-A-Bin in Guelph and owns his own janitorial services company, Euro Klean, usually selects his numbers through Quick Pick, but this time, he used the ages of his children and his dog Nemo.
The first thing Xuereb plans to do with the money is very simple.
“To help my family. I want them to enjoy it as much as I know I will.”
Xuereb, 45, and is married to Wanda. They have three teenage children.
