STORM LAKE MAN'S PRIZE DOUBLES WITH POWER PLAY

DES MOINES, Iowa – A Storm Lake man won $20,000 on Wednesday’s Powerball drawing.
Marvin Brookbank claimed his prize at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Storm Lake. He bought his winning Powerball ticket at Hy-Vee, 1250 N. Lake Ave. in Storm Lake.
The winning numbers on Wednesday were: 5-10-22-45-49 and Powerball 37 in that $78.9 million Powerball jackpot drawing. The Power Play multiplier was 2. Brookbank matched four of the first five numbers drawn and the Powerball to win a $10,000 prize. And because he added the Power Play® to his ticket, he doubled his prize to $20,000.
Players can increase their prizes with the Power Play (except the jackpot) up to five times. The cost is $1 per play. The Power Play number, 2 through 5, is chosen at the beginning of the drawing indicating the amount prizes (except the jackpot) will be multiplied if that number is drawn.
For players who choose the Power Play and match 5 white balls (regularly a $200,000 prize), the multiplier will always be 5, so those players would win an instant $1 million.
