EVANSDALE MAN WINS $250,000 IN 'BINGO' TIMES 10' GAME

DES MOINES, Iowa – An Evansdale man won the first top prize of $250,000 playing the "Bingo Times 10" scratch game. Raymond Dumire was in a state of shock when the Lottery staff told him he was the first top prize winner.
"Isn't that something," Dumire said with an excited laugh.
Dumire, 53, said he just had a feeling the next ticket was going to be a winner. "So I said, 'Well, one more.' That's when the $250,000 came up," said Dumire as he claimed his prize Thursday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. "If I hadn't bought one more, I wouldn't have gotten it."
Dumire had already shared the great news with his dad and the clerks where he purchased his winning scratch ticket.
"I shared it with the store automatically," said Dumire. "They were excited. They said, 'In the future don't forget about me. I'm the one who sold you the ticket.'" He bought his winning ticket at Pronto Market, 3452 Lafayette in Evansdale.
Bingo Times 10 is a $10 scratch game. Players try to match any complete horizontal, vertical or diagonal line, four corners, or an "X" pattern on one of the eight Bingo cards to win the corresponding prize in the prize arrow that points to their card. The "10X" symbol is a "Free" space. If the 10X symbol appears in any winning Bingo pattern, the prize is multiplied by 10. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.37.
Dumire has a couple of ideas about how he plans to use his winnings.
"Of course, I'll probably buy a pickup truck and a plasma television," stated Dumire. "Put the rest in savings."
Overall Dumire was elated about his $250,000 win. "I'm just so excited, that's about all I can say, you know. I'm what they call a little bit in shock, I think."
