LUCKY LAKELAND MAN CLAIMS $22 MILLION FLORIDA LOTTO™ JACKPOT

TALLAHASSEE-- The Florida Lottery announced today that FLORIDA LOTTO™ winner Ernest Klaber, 61, of Lakeland, claimed the January 31, $22 million FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot.
Klaber, chose the one-time, lump-sum payment for the winnings in the amount of $13,765,992.90. The winning FLORIDA LOTTO ticket was purchased at the M&B Food Store, located at 3501 Cleveland Heights Boulevard in Lakeland. The retailer received a bonus incentive of $50,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
The winning numbers were:
01 - 17 - 20 - 31 - 32 - 37
According to Klaber, "I plan to retire and enjoy the rest of my life." Had he purchased the $2 LOTTO PLUS™ option, Klaber would have won $32 million; with the $3 LOTTO PLUS option, he would have won $47 million.
Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated approximately $18 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF). Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $19 billion to the EETF, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education.
Klaber is the 32nd FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winner to purchase a winning ticket in Polk County. To date, there have been 951 FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winners statewide since 1988.
The next FLORIDA LOTTO drawing will be held on Saturday, February 14, at 11:15 p.m. ET with jackpots of $35 million, $20 million and $10 million.
