Two coworkers came in to the Lottery’s validations office to claim their $15,208 check after having played two $1 4-digit straight bets and one $1 4-digit combo bet for the January 16th drawing. They picked their winning number, 2 5 8 8, because they had two different suppliers quote that exact same amount for a job they were working on. The two colleagues said that never happens, so they started playing that number about 4 months ago.
The winning ticket was sold from Morin’s Liquor Store, 1621 Elmwood Ave., Cranston. One of the lucky winners is from East Greenwich, and the other lives in Warwick.
The Daily Numbers drawings take place Monday through Saturday at 6:59 pm and at 6:29 pm on Sundays, live on WPRI-TV.
