RALEIGH - The claims deadline is approaching for six instant scratch-off games. In November, the North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) officially announced the end of the six instant scratch-off games listed below. The effective date for ending the games was Nov. 14, 2008 with a final claims date of Feb. 12, 2009.
In accordance with NCEL policy, all instant game prizes must be claimed by the end of the NCEL business day (5 p.m. EST) as posted by the NCEL, on or before the ninety (90) days is up for the announced end-of-game date. Therefore, all prizes associated with the games listed below must be claimed on or before Feb. 12, 2009. Claims of $600 up to $99,999 must be made at one of the five regional claim centers before 5 p.m. while claims of $100,000 and above must be made at NCEL headquarters before 5 p.m.
Claims that are mailed to the NCEL must be received within 90 days of the official end of game date. Postmarks will not satisfy the 90-day requirement.
