Doug Olson of Owatonna claimed a $77,777 prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on Jan. 26.
He won the prize by playing the Lottery’s Red Hot Cherry 7s scratch game. Olson said that when he uncovered the prize, he looked at the ticket in disbelief and then went back into the store where he purchased it and told the sales clerk, “You did well!”
Kwik Trip, located at 303 Mineral Springs Road in Owatonna, sold the winning ticket.
Red Hot Cherry 7s is a $5 scratch game that offers a top prize of $77,777. Scratch the ticket to play. If you uncover three “like” symbols across in a game, you win the prize for that game. If you uncover a cherry symbol you win automatically. If you uncover a “7” you win double the prize!
The overall odds of winning a prize by playing Red Hot Cherry 7s are 1 in 3.57. There are still five of six $77,777 prizes remaining to be claimed.
