$200,000 AND $20,000 POWERBALL PRIZES WON IN SOUTH DAKOTA

(Pierre) – Two Powerball tickets sold in South Dakota matched all but one number in Saturday night’s drawing, just missing the $163 million jackpot, but still winning sizeable prizes.
A ticket sold in Custer matched the five white balls, but not the red Powerball, to win $200,000. The ticket was one of only two in the nation to win the game’s second prize in the drawing. The other ticket was sold in Tennessee.
A ticket sold in Spearfish matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball to win the game’s third prize. Normally a $10,000 prize, the player had added the Power Play feature for an additional dollar. The prize multiplier was 2, doubling the prize to $20,000.
Lottery director Norm Lingle said each ticket holder should sign the back of their ticket immediately, put it in a safe place, and contact the Lottery office in Rapid City to make arrangements to validate their ticket and claim the prize.
Lottery offices will be closed on Monday, January 19th for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday. Each winner has 180 days to claim their prize.
The winning Powerball numbers for the Saturday, January 17, 2009 drawing were: 02, 05, 09, 23, 59 and the Powerball was 26 The Power Play prize multiplier was 2.
