POWERBALL JACKPOT REACHES $165 MILLION; TWO $1 MILLION POWER PLAY PRIZES WON!

Even though the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball had some huge winners. Two tickets in North Carolina (1), and Pennsylvania (1) matched all 5 white ball numbers with the Power Play for an incredible $1 million cash win! Nine other lucky tickets sold in Florida (1), Louisiana (1), North Carolina (1), Oklahoma (1), Pennsylvania (1), and Wisconsin (4), each won $200,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
The jackpot for the Saturday, January 17th drawing will be $165 million with the cash option at $96.9 million.
The numbers drawn Wednesday evening were 8, 25, 34, 39, 46, and the Powerball was 34. The Power Play multiplier was 5.
A whopping 39 tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Seven additional tickets of that prize level had the Power Play and had the prize multiplied by 5 for a $50,000 cash win! A total of 884,066 tickets across the nation won more than $10.9 million in prizes playing America’s favorite game.
A total of 145,674 winning Powerball tickets multiplied their prize by 5 Wednesday. Players were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for $1. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings from 2-5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night’s multiplier.
Players should carefully check their tickets after every draw. Even if there are no jackpot winners there are always tens of thousands of winners at other prize levels.
Players purchased $39,509,357 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.
