WARREN COUNTY LOTTERY PLAYER WINS $10,000 HOT LOTTO PRIZE

DES MOINES, Iowa – A Warren County woman is thinking about the fun of camping now that she's won a $10,000 lottery prize.
"We are going to pour a concrete slab for our camper," Marina Weis of Lacona said Friday as she claimed a $10,000 Hot Lotto prize at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Des Moines. "That's what we plan on doing. And then we'll take the camper in because there are a few things that need fixed with it."
Weis, 50, a manager at an Indianola data-processing service, bought her winning Hot Lotto ticket at Casey's, 203 S. Lincoln in Knoxville.
The winning numbers in Wednesday's $2.39 million Hot Lotto jackpot drawing were: 5-9-21-34-35 and Hot Ball 9. No one won Wednesday's jackpot, so it climbs to an estimated $2.62 million for Saturday’s drawing.
Weis won a $10,000 prize by matching the first five numbers but missing the Hot Ball on her ticket. If she would have played the Hot Lotto Sizzler®, she would have won $30,000!
Hot Lotto players choose five numbers from a pool of 39 and another number, called the Hot Ball, from a pool of 19. The Hot Lotto jackpot starts at $1 million and grows until someone wins it. Tickets in the game cost $1. Hot Lotto drawings are held at about 9:40 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays, just before the Powerball drawings.
Players can multiply their non-jackpot prizes by three with the Hot Lotto Sizzler option. The cost is $1 per play. Prizes are always tripled with the Hot Lotto Sizzler.
Weis said she learned she'd won a big prize Thursday morning when she checked the Hot Lotto results on demand with DirecTV satellite television. She said she routinely uses that service to check her lotto tickets the morning after the twice-a-week drawings in Powerball® and Hot Lotto.
"I just kept looking at the ticket and looking at the TV because I'm lucky to get one number right most of the time,' she said with a laugh.
