MILLION DOLLAR RAFFLE WINNING TICKETS CLAIMED

The $1,000,000 top prize winner for the Rhode Island Lottery’s Million Dollar Raffle Game was claimed first thing this morning by Anthony and Rebecca Broccoli. Out of the 120,000 tickets sold, the winning number was 1 0 5 9 9 5.
The Broccoli’s said they were over their relative’s house on New Year’s Eve watching the live announcement on WPRI from the Lighthouse Bar at Twin River. They didn’t have their ticket on hand and couldn’t remember their numbers, but thought they only had low numbers so they didn’t think they were the winners. The next morning they checked their numbers on the website and couldn’t believe what they saw. The couple came in to the Validations office with their two children. They plan to use the money to send both children to college, and the youngest even wants to go to medical school.
In addition to the million dollar top prize, there are multiple prizes of $10,000, $500, and $100. Just one of the $10,000 winners has come in so far. He bought his ticket from Stop & Shop at 446 Putnam Pike in Smithfield. The winner, along with his wife, said with a laugh that they plan to use the money to renovate their bathroom.
