CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY FOR GREELEY RESIDENT
December 15, 2008
FORT COLLINS – Gidget Pinkstaff received a big dose of good cheer December 12th, when she scratched off a $50,000 prize in the Colorado Lottery’s Holiday Snowbank Scratch game. Although Pinkstaff sells Lottery tickets at the Greeley convenience store and deli she manages, the lucky ticket was purchased by her husband at the Stampede Travel Plaza in Evans.

“He gave it to me and I scratched it while I was on break and I thought, ‘no way,’” said Pinkstaff. “I’ve got the check and I still don’t know if I believe it.”

Pinkstaff plans to use the money to cover college expenses for her daughters, one of whom attends the University of Northern Colorado.

“I’ve been really stressed about my daughters and (how to pay for) college and this will help,” said Pinkstaff, who can now afford to supply her daughter with a parking pass for school.

To alleviate fighting over the family’s one computer, Pinkstaff said she was also planning to buy laptops for everyone in the household.
