Norel Hunt did not have her fortune read, gaze into a crystal ball or read the tea leaves at the bottom of her cup to discover good fortune. She simply had to rub the magic lamp, like the magic lamp on her “Aladdin’s Lamp” Scratch-it ticket, game #726, to find a $25,000 prize.
Norel was visiting from Glendale, Arizona, her first visit to Oregon since she was in the 7th grade. On the first day of her visit, she purchased an “Aladdin’s Lamp” Scratch-it ticket from Fred Meyer, in Clackamas. As she scratched her ticket, Norel uncovered three “Aladdin’s Lamp” symbols, making her an instant $25,000 top prizewinner.
Norel won’t have to worry about trying to find a magic flying carpet for transportation. She is going to be looking into purchasing a car. “Better than the bus,” she added, as she posed for her commemorative photo, and took the time to add her signature to the winners’ wall.
