FIRST-TIME PLAYER WINS $20,000 PLAYING BONUS CROSSWORD

TOPEKA, KAN. – According to Erika Pryor of Wichita, she has listened to her dad Patrick Dawson say over the years, “Buy a lottery ticket, you might win.” The 20-year-old finally took her dad’s advice and purchased a $2 Bonus Crossword instant scratch ticket. She couldn’t believe her luck when she revealed all 10 words, winning a $20,000 top prize!
“My dad plays scratch tickets every day,” said Pryor. “He’s always telling family members to buy tickets, buy tickets, buy tickets. On Wednesday, I went to the grocery store and decided to try my luck. I waited until I got to work before I scratched it. When I revealed all ten words, I started screaming.”
Pryor was so excited about her win, she called her parents to share the news.
“My parents came to my work and got the ticket from me,” said Pryor. “I was too nervous having in my possession.”
Pryor’s dad had the winning ticket verified at a local convenience store.
“I can’t believe I won the first time I bought a ticket,” said Pryor.
Pryor, who attends Cowley County Community College, plans to save her winnings.
Her winning ticket was purchased at Dillons 56, located at 3707 N. Woodlawn, in Wichita.
