Boise – Last Saturday night’s $200,000 Powerball winner from Idaho Falls has claimed his winning prize from the Idaho Lottery. Albert Richmond bought his winning ticket that matched all five numbers, but not the Powerball, from the Jacksons Food Store located at 2265 S. Yellowstone Avenue in Idaho Falls.
“I am very grateful,” said Richmond, who has lived in Idaho Falls for the past two years. “This is truly unbelievable.”
“We have a very excited winner,” said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. “However, Mr. Richmond has requested privacy in this matter and as a responsible State agency, to the extent that we can, we are respecting his request.”
“I am going to set my winnings aside and create college funds for my children. It is all I’ve ever dreamed of doing,” added Richmond. “I feel blessed that I live in a community that understands there is more to life than winning money.”
After State and Federal taxes, Richmond took home a check worth $134,400. For selling the winning ticket, Jacksons Food Stores receives a $20,000 bonus from the Idaho Lottery.
This is the third $200,000 or more Idaho Lottery win for the greater Idaho Falls area since last May when Charles Rexford of Arco won $200,000 on Powerball and Raymond Moore of Pinedale, Wyoming won $250,000 on Xtreme Winter Green in Swan Valley last August.
