RETIRED BANKER CASHES IN!
October 7, 2008
OLYMPIA - William Dowling, a retired banker from Sandpoint, Idaho, woke up one morning last week with the overwhelming feeling that luck was on his side.

“It was strange. I woke up and I immediately thought, ‘Today feels like a lucky day.’” Dowling said. “So I hopped in my car and drove 35 miles to Newport, Wash. to pick up a lottery ticket.”

Dowling checked the paper the next day for the September 13 Hit 5 drawing and couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw one by one that his numbers matched. Suddenly he found himself $310,000 richer.

“I couldn’t believe it, seeing those numbers match up in the paper was absolutely incredible,” Dowling said. “I called my wife immediately to tell her. We’re so thrilled – its perfect timing.”

He says that because he’s retired he plans to use the money for investments and for his family’s future.

Dowling won $310,000 when he matched the winning numbers 02-11-16-32-35 in the Saturday, September 13th Washington’s Lottery Hit 5 drawing. He purchased his winning ticket at Safeway located at 121 W. Walnut St in Newport.
