OKLAHOMA CITY – Rick Johnson of Tulsa won $40,000 playing the Oklahoma Lottery’s new Mountains of Cash Scratcher. He is the first top prize winner of the new scratcher since its launch on September 23, 2008.

Johnson purchased his winning ticket at the QuikTrip located at 10310 E. 11th Street. For now, he plans to be conservative with his new pile of cash.

“I’m going to bless my mom by getting her settled and then I’ll just save the rest,” he said.

To win playing the Mountains of Cash Scratcher, players’ numbers must match any of the winning numbers to receive the prize revealed. If a player reveals a ‘CASH’ symbol, it’s a $50 instant win. If a ‘MOUNTAIN’ symbol is revealed, the player wins five times the prize shown.

Christine Garrett won $700 as a contestant on The Oklahoma Lottery Game Show, which aired on September 27.

Garrett purchased her winning entry ticket at Maveric Mini Mart at 6401 N. Peoria in Tulsa.

Each 30-minute episode of The Oklahoma Lottery Game Show features seven contestants (six new contestants and one returning champion) in a series of number-themed games. All players are guaranteed $500, and may have a chance to win more than $50,000 in cash and prizes in each show.

All contestants receive “star” treatment, including accommodations at the Sheraton Oklahoma City Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City, dinner for the contestant and a guest, and breakfast in the Aria Grill at the hotel.

The Game Show airs Saturdays at 6 p.m. on KOCB Channel 34 in Oklahoma City. The show is rebroadcast in Tulsa on Cox Channel 3 Mondays at 2 p.m. and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. In Oklahoma City, the show re-airs on Cox Channel 7 Mondays at 2 p.m. and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
