While visiting friends and family in Minnesota, Greg Prendi of Yonkers, N.Y. purchased a $500,000 Gold Rush scratch ticket and won $500,000.
As he received the prize check at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on Sept. 23, he summed up his vacation in Minnesota as “Fantastic, couldn’t be better!” Prendi said that he was in shock when he uncovered the $500,000 win and it still hadn’t totally sunk in.
Oasis Market, located at 13660 Crosstown Blvd. N.W. in Andover, sold the winning ticket.
$500,000 Gold Rush is a $20 scratch game that offers players a chance to win a $500,000 top prize. Five of six $500,000 prizes remain in the game. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.02.
