MARSHALLTOWN MAN CLAIMS $30,000-WINNING TICKET!

DES MOINES, Iowa - A Marshalltown man is $30,000 richer thanks to his recent lottery win.
Daniel Martinez of Marshalltown won $30,000 playing the “Crossword” (purple/pink newsprint) instant-scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at Kum & Go, 141 S. 74th St. in West Des Moines.
Martinez claimed his prize at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Des Moines.
Crossword (purple/pink newsprint) is a $3 scratch game. Players win by uncovering at least three complete words in the ticket's puzzle. If a player uncovers 10 words, he/she wins $30,000. The overall odds of winning in the game are about 1 in 4.
Thirteen $30,000 prizes are still up for grabs in the game as well as nearly 20 prizes of $3,000, more than 300 prizes of $300 and more than 1,600 prizes of $100.
