Regina has a brand new lottery millionaire. Wayne Kelly won the $1 Million Top Prize on a SET FOR LIFE SCRATCH ’N WIN ticket.
Wayne purchased the $5 ticket on Sunday, September 21st at the North Albert Mohawk, at 159 Albert Street in Regina. After scratching the ticket, he saw that he had uncovered three “SET FOR LIFE” symbols in a single game. That meant he had won his choice of $1000 a week for 25 years, or a single payment of $1 million!
Following a sleepless night, Wayne called the lottery’s toll-free number on Monday morning to confirm his win.
“I cried,” Wayne remembered when asked about his reaction to the win. “I’m still kind of in a cloud about the whole thing.”
Having chosen the $1 Million lump sum, Wayne said he’ll use some of his windfall to pay off his mortgage and buy a new car. And although he has no plans to retire, he said he would like to take a good vacation.
