BCLC PAYS TRIBUTE TO CANADIAN ATHLETES WITH UNVEILING OF 2010 WINTER GAMES MURALS
September 23, 2008
Kamloops, B.C. – As the international sporting community has now shifted its focus to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, BCLC today unveiled its own tribute to Canada's Olympians with a massive series of murals "wrapping" the corporation's head office in Kamloops.
British Columbians throughout the province were invited to BCLC's Kamloops office to witness the official unveiling of the vibrant murals.
"We are proud to be an Official Supporter of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and through our sponsorship we're not only helping to bring thousands of British Columbians to the games, we're striving to bring the spirit of the games to communities throughout B.C.," said Michael Graydon, President & CEO of BCLC. "The 2010 Winter Games are more than just British Columbia's Games. Every Canadian can feel pride when our Canadian athletes perform and BCLC is proud to show its support."
Olympians on hand for the event included Sultana Frizell, Iain Brambell and the legendary Nancy Greene Raine, while guest speakers included the Honourable Rich Coleman, Minister for Housing and Social Development and the Minister Responsible for BCLC.
The building wrap project was jointly managed by BCLC and 3M, the Official Supplier of Building Wrap Graphics for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games.
BCLC offers the chance to experience the 2010 Winter Games live through SportsFunder lottery games. There are currently three SportsFunder games with opportunities to win tickets to the Games; Share the Dream, Gold Medal Curling and Gold Medal Figure Skating.
Proceeds from the sale of SportsFunder lottery games support amateur sports in B.C. through KidSport™, Team BC, Youth Sport Travel Assistance, and Coach and Leadership Development.
