COLUMBIA, SC - A West Columbia teenager’s first lottery playing experience is one she’ll remember for the rest of her life! Merranda Michels chose an instant ticket that turned out to be a $100,000 winner!
“It was my 18th birthday, and I could finally buy a lottery ticket! I didn’t know what ticket to purchase, so the store clerk suggested the Sea Escape game. I liked the way it looked, so I got it,” Michels said.
She didn’t scratch the ticket until she got home. That’s when she realized she was a winner. “I just stared at all the zeros on the ticket. My mom looked at it and said I had won $100,000! I started screaming,” the lucky teen said.
Michels has a few ideas on what to buy with her winnings. But she also plans to save most of it. Michels purchased the Sea Escape ticket at Li’l Cricket #877 on Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia.
Sea Escape is one of a trio of instant Summer Escape 2008 games featuring travel-themed prizes and cash.
