OKLAHOMA CITY MAN ISN'T AFRAID OF THE NUMBER 13

OKLAHOMA CITY – Joe Wise welcomes the number 13 like an old friend. He says its his lucky number and to prove it, he won $200,000 playing Powerball Saturday, Sept. 13. The date also marks his daughter’s birthday and his wife’s birthday is October 13.
“I was in total shock,” said Wise. “I had to bring my wife, Olivia, in to the room to check the numbers on the computer with me. Then everyone came in the room and we all started screaming and crying.”
Wise buys a Powerball ticket for every draw and he’s a firm believer in getting his numbers through Easy Pick. He purchased his winning ticket at his usual spot, the Circle K at 134 and Western. Luck is also on the side of the retailer. Through the Oklahoma Lottery’s retailer bonus program, the Circle K receives $5,000 for selling the winning ticket.
For now the Wise family intends on letting their winnings bring them closer. They plan on flying their daughter, who lives in California, home for Christmas and they’re planning a vacation next summer.
“We’re going to pay off the house and truck, too,” said Wise. “It just makes everything easier as far as having less bills to pay.”
