BALTIMORE CITY COUPLE BREAK THE BANK FOR $10,000
September 11, 2008
(Baltimore) – George and Ramona Knight are $10,000 richer after Ramona purchased three, Break the Bank scratch-off tickets on August 29th. She scratched the tickets while sitting in the car. When she scratched the second $2 ticket she realized she had a $10,000 winner. “I looked at it, but I didn’t believe it, it was unbelievable,” the 50-year-old said.

Ramona kept her winning ticket in her car console on her way home to share the good news with her husband-of-three-years, George. “I didn’t have on my glasses when she showed it to me,” said George. “I thought it was a $1,000 winning ticket.”

“Once I put on my glasses, I said in disbelief, ‘it looks like $10,000.’ You really know it’s a winner when you come down here,” George added, referring to their trip to Lottery Headquarters.

The couple, who have seven children between them, hid the ticket on the nightstand to let the win register for a few days. They also wanted to make sure their German Sheppard Simba didn’t get hold of it. “Simba has a tendency to chew up paper,” George admitted.

When asked what they will do with the prize money George said, “We haven’t even thought about that, we’ll probably just pay bills.” The winning ticket was purchased at the A-Plus Convenience Store on Belvedere Avenue in Baltimore City.
