A LAVAL COUPLE SPLITS LOTTO 6/49 JACKPOT

Montréal – Mrs. Marlène Gagnon has been playing the same Lotto 6/49 numbers for 25 years. Her selections represent dates that are meaningful to her and her husband, André Gagnon. At the August 16 draw, one of their selections brought them unbelievable fortune. The Laval couple won the $16,725,387 jackpot. The lucky winners learned about their win on the night of the draw. Checking and rechecking the numbers with different sources to confirm the results, they said that the night seemed to stretch on forever! The next morning, the Gagnons finally called their close family and friends to announce the news.
When the couple met with Yves Corbeil at Loto-Québec headquarters, they said that they had not yet made specific plans for the future. They want to take some time to think about it but are sure they will be making a number of investments.
The lucky ticket was purchased from Marché Turenne, located at 4880 Sainte-Rose Blvd. in Laval. The retailer will receive a commission of $167,253, an amount equal to 1% of the prize.
